Location
Fullerton, in Orange County, California. Ironically in the same plaza as Baskin Robbins, and Starbucks. Even with big-time competitors, the Yogurtland was full of hustle and bustle, as kids came in and out at 10pm at nite to feast on frozen yogurt.

Apologies for the grainy cell phone picture, we forgot to bring our camera. But in this picture you can see the wall of yogurt machines churning away all the different flavors.
Concept
In cahoots with Boba Loca - you can treat yourself to multiple flavors yourself, so you can go yogurt-wild.
Taste-test
If the taste doesn’t meet expectations, than you’re in for disappointment. The good news is, our tastebuds were pleasantly surprised. I sampled plain, strawberry, blueberry, and espresso. The plain had a slight hint of tart that made it enjoyable. Blueberry was also another nice surprise. Not many frozen yogurt places offer blueberry, so it was definitely a good pick. I was rather disappointed with strawberry as it had too much of an artificial flavor to it. And espresso wasn’t bad, nor was it good.
Overall, if you want to enjoy good yogurt here, I would highly recommend the plain or blueberry.
Toppings?
They had a wide variety of toppings, I’d say well over 20, from fruit to cereal to nuts to cookie dough, but nothing I was particularly feening. I tried blackberry on mine for just a little bit of tartiness, which was fine. But with all those toppings, it was a shame none of them really lured me in. However, a gentleman in front of me was very eager to top his yogurt with a multitude of goodies. He was so excited to make his own creation, it was almost like watching a little boy open his Christmas presents.
Texture is just as Important as Taste
While the flavor was up to our expectations, I was a little disappointed in texture. The way the yogurt falls into your cup tells you a lot about the yogurt itself. Mine had a hard time disconnecting from the machine. It didn’t necessarily “swirl” down as pretty as I would have hoped. I think this has to do with the frozen yogurt being a little icier than usual. I prefer my frozen yogurt to have a nice balance of icy + creamy, something like 40% icy, 60% creamy, and Yogurtland’s was a little heavier on the icy side.
But I was nevertheless impressed with their service, the guy behind the counter was sweet and had a sense of humor. It’s rare nowadays to find good service especially from food related businesses, and it’s this touch of kindness that can help the yogurt buying experience.
I wasn’t super-impressed by yogurtland, but I wasn’t let down. OC residents can rejoice, since Pinkberry currently does not exist below the LA border. You can catch a frozen yogurt if you’re near Cal State Fullerton. If I was a student, I’d stop by multiple times a week just to satiate my frozen yogurt craving. Check it out, OC folk, for a frozen yogurt well done. And hey, if you can choose between yogurt or boba, even better, the freedom of yogurt is yours.
