It’s always the mom and pop’s places that tickle my fancy. Admittedly, they may lack the trendiness, or the subtlety of flavor difference is pretty noticeable to the true frozen yogurt fan - HOWEVER, the one thing I have to commend the smaller run froyo shops, is for their customer care and happy vibes. I’m not saying you can’t get that from one of the larger franchises, but there is always something comforting and quaint from the smaller places.
Tonight for instance, was by far one of my best experiences at a frozen yogurt shop. The young gentleman behind the register tonite taking our order was very sweet and definitely not just about taking your money - he wanted to keep the banter going. The little things make a difference. The customer service at Rosegreen tonite was exceptional!
At Rosegreen, they offer plain, and green tea yogurt, and a wide selection of fresh fruit, nuts, cereal, and the one that caught my eye - colored marshmallow! Of course, not quite the same as heavenly rice cakes you would find elsewhere, but still it’s something unique in texture and it’s a nice touch to your fruit toppings. Price for a medium with 3 toppings comes down to 3.95 - expected.
I can’t wait to see what new toppings start hitting the froyo market… it will be interesting to see which competitors will be smart enough to play around with fresh new toppings - it’s hit or miss! I have yet to try Pinkberry’s lychee as they’ve been promoting, in all honesty, I drove by the new location in Pasadena, and it was super-packed. But what is more impressive, is driving by 21 Choices Frozen Yogurt which has been around for years.. that place is ALWAYS hustle and bustle. I am surprised Pinkberry chose to compete with the ever-so-popular yogurt shop, but as you know, devoted fans always have a way of flocking to their favorites.
