The stars, the streets, the lifestyle … there’s no place that is more LA than Hollywood itself.
Hooray for Hollywood - and how about Cantaloop?

It’s a tiny shop, in a tiny plaza off the corner of La Brea and Hollywood, but may be worth a stop to quench your yogurt craving.

The spot is small, with only a few cozy seats on the inside, and a few more seats outside, so you can get a street view.

Pick from 4 simple flavors, plain, mango, blueberry, and banana. We recommend the mango. The texture of the yogurt is on the icy-side, much more icier than we’re used to. Not my favorite, but some might like the icy texture. You can get a single ‘loop’, double ‘loop’, or triple ‘loop’ - and prices based on size/number of toppings.
We also notice a sign that mentions they do not use any CFC’s, which for those of you non-science diehards are chlorofluorocarbons, a group of manufactured chemical compounds that contain chlorine, fluorine, and carbon, that are known to also harm the ozone layer. It’s good to know my consumption of this froyo is not harming the environment.

Today’s safe bet was plain with mochi and captain crunch. I’d like to note the toppings were kept very clean and covered. With many of the self-serve yogurt joints, the toppings are left out in the open for most of the day which I would hazard to guess is not as sanitary as keeping them covered. But Cantaloop was extremely clean.

The mochi was simply OK, and the other toppings are rather standard, the cereals, the fruits, the nuts, the chips, etc. are all just fine. The server heaps a plentiful helping onto your ‘loop’.

Have you had your share of Cantaloop? Let us know.
