What better way to cap off a sunny Labor Day weekend than to treat our taste buds to a little frozen yogurt goodness?
Next stop - Modeberi. Modeberi just had its grand opening on Saturday August 23rd, so we’re glad to give it a first swirl.

We first blogged about Wildberry which lies a couple blocks down the street - so once we learned another froyo joint was a’brewing, we had to check it out for ourselves. Modeberi has found its home in a large plaza right across the street from Milesquare Park, neighboring Albertson’s, Starbuck’s, Petco, Wells Fargo, and a few new stores.
As soon as you enter, you’re engulfed in an avalanche of white from the walls, to the chairs, from the tables, to the ceiling.

Just the white feel and decor gives you a feeling of cleanliness and open air - although, it can also convey a sort of emptiness and sterilization, similar to a hospital. Nonetheless, we prefer a clean environment and give Modeberi a thumbs up for a clean, white layout. The white orchids floating in vases are a nice touch.
Enough of the decor, onto the yogurt! Modeberi is self-serve and offers eight different flavors at 39 cents an ounce.
Taro, Chocolate, Strawberry, Lychee, Mango, Green Tea, Blueberry-Pomegranate, and Tart. As always, we recommend you sample before you buy so you know what you’re getting.

I may have been brainwashed from all the white surrounding me to try their tart, but unfortunately it left me disappointed. The tart was on the extreme tart side, leaving little wonder for the tongue. I opted away from their tart and was better matched with their mango, blueberry- pomegranate, and taro.

The result was surprisingly satisfactory. The toppings are all fresh, clean, well-kept, and delicious. The yogurt has a nice consistency from the start, but the melt-factor is quick like most frozen yogurt. If it’s a hot day, we’d recommend you stay in and eat.
I enjoyed the mango the most and I appreciated the variety of toppings they had to offer.

Modeberi also offers shaved ice if you’re more of an ice person.

We also like that they offer a variety of refreshments for sale and complimentary pitchers of water.
Overall, Modeberi has done their research - they’ve set up a clean and friendly store that gives you the freedom of selection (like fellow Yogurtlands, and Yogurt Worlds), and personally, is a step above the Yogurtlands and Yogurt Worlds because it’s a little more intimate and clean. The staff is also friendly, and possibly in training, as this is their second week in business. It’s conveniently located if you want to make a stop after grocery shopping, running to the bank, or hanging out at the nearby park.
Give it a try, let us know what you think!

I went to modeberi in Fountain Valley twice and enjoyed the frozen yogurt there. The store was bright and clean. The frozen yogurt was good and the toppings were plentiful. I would give it a 3.5 star.
