There’s something to be said about a yogurt store that is teeming with people close to midnight.
Meet Yogurtland in Little Tokyo. Next to Office Depot, Starbucks, and Quizno’s.

Yogurtland is just another addition to the tight-knit Little Tokyo community, just within walking distance of Pinkberry and Cefiore. Unlike its neighbors, Yogurtland is well-known for offering their froyo self-serve. Pick a cup, pick a machine, fill up your cup, and pay at the counter, simple as that.

And so our yogurt experience begins. Yogurtland has clearly labeled familiar froyo machines with their logo.

And oh the choices are a-plenty. If you ever tire of the traditional tart, Yogurtland experiments with over a dozen different flavors.

Here’s one we haven’t seen before. Heath bar flavor?

Each flavor is depicted with an image above to give you a better idea of what you’re getting into. I always like to try a little bit of everything to get the best of all worlds.

A good froyo is nothing without toppings. Take your pick.

The price here is 30 cents an ounce so fill up to your content.

The froyo is all right for me. There is nothing that stands out about the yogurt, in terms of taste. I find the taro to be interesting at first bite, but a little much after multiple bites. Another Froyomind staffer begs to differ and finds the taro to be repulsive. And yet I overhear another customer who absolutely adores the taro. To each your own!
Simply the fact that there are so many flavors to choose from I think makes it more fun because you can try something new when you go. It’s a social thing, you grab your cup, your friend grabs another, and you can compare your choices. I can only imagine how crazy kids would get with their froyo creations.

But when it comes down to the best in taste and quality, I’ll let you decide. It’s just a matter of opinion. Some people prefer McDonald’s coffee over Starbucks, while others drift to Coffeebean. Likewise, now you can choose from Yogurtland, CeFiore, and Pinkberry, all in the same vicinity.
What’s your take?
