Effects of economy on Froyo

Posted on Tuesday 3 February 2009

Since posting our article ‘State of the Froyo’ we’ve received notice that two major froyo chains have quietly shuttered stores at two locations.  We are still constantly seeing the small ‘copycat’ shops opening all over the place.  However we least likely expected to see any of the big player franchisees to stumble and close shop.  One closure that we do have confirmation from is the Miracle Mile Red Mango, details for the reason of it’s closing have not been disclosed.  We’ve also heard word from the streets that a Pinkberry has recently closed its doors, but we just can’t confirm that until we check with our sources.

The Arcadia Pingo has also closed down, probably due to the new Yogurtland as well as Tutti Frutii which are are just footsteps away.
